Company History: The Farmers Insurance Group of Companies was founded in 1928 when Farmers Insurance Exchange, an automobile insurer, was formed. As customer demand for additional insurance services increased, the Fire Insurance Exchange and Truck Insurance Exchange were established for home and commercial insurance needs. Homeowners Business: Farmers offers a variety of overage options. Standard coverage insures property, possessions, liability, payments and additional living expenses. In addition standard coverage includes benefits such as claim forgiveness, weather related claim forgiveness, and cosmetic damage coverage. Optional coverage includes scheduled personal property and identity shield. 

Special Business: Farmers owns Foremost Insurance located in Michigan which provides insurance for Boats, Motorcycles, RV's and other specialty lines.
